Has there ever been a real life epic warrior that wins a battle all by himself?

April 8, 2013

Question by Clean Independent Energy: Has there ever been a real life epic warrior that wins a battle all by himself?
In video games and movies, a common theme is the lone ranger type warrior that wins a battle all by himself. The examples are endless. There’s Rambo, Bruce Willis in Die Hard, video games like Doom and Quake, and the list goes on and on.

I’m wondering if there are any true examples in human history where some lone ranger type warrior that was able to do this. A “one man army”, so to speak.

Is it legal to take/ride a HORSE anywhere in the USA, but just as long as they don’t live there?

March 30, 2013

Question by AQHAdieselpower: Is it legal to take/ride a HORSE anywhere in the USA, but just as long as they don’t live there?
I live in Wisconsin and as most, I live in the city and board my horses at a boarding stable in a city where horses are legally allowed. I always though it would be cool to ride my horse through the city. I call some police depts of the city I am interested in riding my horse in, and most say it’s OK, as long as you pick up horses horses poop and it’s not living there. Others say NO, horses are not allowed AT ALL in their city and a ticket will be issued. I was told by someone that horses are indeed allowed and legally allowed anywhere in the USA, just as long as they do not live/stay where it is not zoned for livestock. If someone can let me know if this is true or not, that would be great. Also, if someone can give me a web page that shows a USA law/statue and/or a WI state law/statue that says horses are allowed anywhere in the USA, that would be wonderful!! Then I can print it out and show it to any copp that feels the need to give me trouble or question the law(s).

How does a 16 year old get a job at a chain restaurant such as Chilis?

Question by tash m: How does a 16 year old get a job at a chain restaurant such as Chilis?
I’m willing to work at any restaurant really, and I love in San Jose

First of all, get some experience. If you can’t get a “real” job yet, do volunteer work that will build skills and a reputation for hard work and relilability. If all else fails start a lawn mowing service or other useful community business, then after working at it for a while ask for letters of recommendation from your best clients.

Get a work permit if you need one in your state.

Remember that many restaurants serve alcohol and you may not be allowed to work in those places since you are under drinking age. Check your local laws.

Be willing to do the grunt work. If you are under 18 expect that you will be bussing tables rather than waiting on customers where you will earn the tips.

Contact your local workforce development office, a temp agency, or employment commission.

Networking will probably be your best asset. You may try to start with a mom and pop restaurant and offer to work for free until you prove yourself, then work you behind off.

In short the harder you work at landing the job you want, the easier it will be to get hired. If you expect someone to offer you the job without any previous work history, you’ll be disappointed.

I need help finding community resources for a family down on their luck.?

February 13, 2013

Question by nunciata22: I need help finding community resources for a family down on their luck.?
I have checked into the obvious food pantries, Catholic Services, Lutheran Services, and the public assistance. This family has undergone some drastic hardships the past 6 months. Dad is disabled and he is unable to work at all due to the family being in a car accident. There is a 6 year old boy, and mom is 6 months pregnant. Mom works full time, but due to lack of funds, she can’t even fill her car with gas. Anyone have any ideas? They are in the Madison, WI area.
