The 1st responder has done a good job in answering your Q. I have a slightly different approach that does not require the Law of Cosines (in case you are not there yet in your studies.)

As you should ALWAYS do, draw a sketch of the situation.

Here's my approach:
? Draw a fence-line and a sprinkler line to intersect at point A with ?A = 34.5º
? Starting at A, locate points S?, S?, and S? at 10m intervals along the sprinkler line.
? Locate points P?, P?, and P? at intervals along the fence line such that
S?P?, S?P?, and S?P? are all ? to the fence line.

The lengths of S?P?, S?P?, and S?P? will be:
• 10sin34.5º, 20sin34.5º, and 30sin34.5º respectively, or
• 5.66, 11.33, and 16.98 respectively (all rounded to 2 dec pl)

So the 3rd sprinkler will not reach the fence line, but the first two will.

? Draw a point C on the fence line that is 12 m from S? and further along than P? from A
? Consider the right ?S?P?C with S?P? = 11.33, S?C = 12, and P?C to be calculated (using Pythagoras)
? P?C = ?(12² – 11.33²) = 3.95 (2 dec pl)
? AC = AP? + 3.95
? AP? = 20cos34.5 = 16.48
? AC = 16.48 + 3.05 = 20.43 = 20.4 (n 10th)

This answer matches what the 1st repsonder determined using the Law of Cosines.

As you can see the Law of Cosines is MUCH faster ... but just in case you have not been taught that yet, this (longer) approach with "just the Basics" can still be made to work.

Hope that is helpful to you! Cheers! ?

@wheely132 Now they do The earthwise and the Worx Batterie power lawn mowers actually last long enough to cut your lawn twice per charge.. I love them..
Tried the Earth wise.. and was blowen away by the power!
The worx? was so quiet and nice and cut grass really well ..which shocked me.. but the Earthwise was more profesional.
If I had a choice I'd take the Worx because the fancyness.
